Originally this blog started as a review blog, with some writing and publishing reflections thrown in. So while there are a bunch of reviews back in the archives, these days I mostly do my reviews on Goodreads, and on the other blog I manage, BlogTown.
What usually happens is as soon as I finish a book, I do a quick and dirty review of it on Goodreads. All my immediate reactions. Then after awhile I go back to it and do a more detailed review on BlogTown. If I have strong feelings about a book, I might do a write-up about it on this blog, but it’s pretty rare that that happens.
That said, if I read a book, chances are it will get reviewed on a minimum of two websites, plus being talked about on Facebook and Twitter. So, without further ado, my review policy.
I do not participate in blog tours on this website, but please see the BlogTown page for info on blog tours. I love interviewing and hosting authors.
Review Policy
I’m constantly reading, and I’ll happily accept reader-copies or ARCs for review. Unless you need it done by a specific date, I make no guarantees about when it will go up (I have a huge reading list). I will try to accommodated your needs, but if you need it by a specific time, it’s best to get it to me a few months ahead of time. I primarily review young adult books, and occasionally middle grade books.
Genres I prefer:
-contemporary fiction
-queer fiction
-dystopian and speculative fiction
I also like:
-fantasy
-paranormal romance
I’m not much interested in:
-hard sci fi
-non-fiction
To submit a book for review, simply email me (lucy.softich[at]gmail.com), and we’ll talk details.
I will happily accept e-galleys for my Nook.
